Simulation is a technique for practice and learning that can be applied to many different disciplines and trainees. It is “immersive” in that the learner is able to navigate their environment in a way that replaces and amplifies real experiences with guided ones. This encourages problem-solving, and critical thinking, and allows the learner to "fail" in a safe environment.

Reportable incidents soared, workers were getting injured and productivity plummeted. Statistically, over 50% of new hires were involved in incidents in the first two months of employment. This figure dropped to less than 5% within six months.
Competency-based training (CBT) is a structured approach to training and assessment that is directed toward achieving specific outcomes. CBT is about assisting individuals to acquire skills and knowledge so they are able to perform a task to a specified standard under certain conditions
